31 Days of Lego

Tomorrow we join over 300 local creators in making art every day in July with Delaware Fun-A-Day.

I’ll be building alongside my sons and our home-educating friends. Each day we’ll piece together a Lego sculpture and ultimately put them all on display at the Fun-A-Day Art Show in August.

I used painter’s tape to mark out our approximate display area, then played with different configurations while I figured out the maximum dimensions for each sculpture in inches and, most importantly, Lego studs

Although this last design allows for more than 31 builds, I want to give our creators many options for starting points. I want to add some round templates and let the kids see what they fancy.

I’m excited because I rarely build for my self. I’m usually sorting or facilitating someone else’s build. This month I get to play with all the inspirations I get from regularly watching kids bring their imaginations to life.
