Ten years ago, we couldn’t keep Isaac off the ladder as Westen helped Mary place the star on our tree.

Today, these boys grabbed the tree out of the van and placed it without waiting for me.

The healing journey of a widowed, unschooling badass in Delaware.

I’ve been out of training for a full week and it’s not fun to sit and watch my son on the mat without me. I have a nagging cough from a bout with the flu, but I’ll be back to soccer tomorrow and jiu-itsu soon enough.

The flu sucks, but it has forced me to slow down and enjoy Argentina versus Croatia in World Cup play and this healing homemade soup from Kristen.
To meeting Brian Selznick at Delaware Art Museum.

To exploring Winterthur Museum, Garden, and Library with backpacks designed for interacting with the exhibits.

To the evening my five-year-old learned how to build a fire at Ashland Nature Center. The program was suppose to be outside, but light rain pushed us into their very cozy lodge.

Look at the pride on his little face.

I crashed from soccer, home education, and jiu-jitsu highs this week.
I’ve got honest self-reflection to ponder and a lot of spiritual, psychological, and physical rebuilding to accomplish.
We restarted and rebranded our Lego Unschool Club today.

Although I offered a variety of Harry Potter sets to explore, unschool principles reign and everyone persued their own interests.
My elder son continued work on his latest stop motion film for his YouTube channel: Z-Boys Creations.

A mother and daughter team tackled one of the older Hogwarts sets.

A young man brought The Lego Christmas Ornaments Book to create a Santa decoration.

One family with younger boys enjoyed our collections of Duplo, comics, and magnetic poetry. And some of the boys went for a walk after their building.

I feel extremely blessed to be able to share the resources that have filled our learning lifestyle. New and familiar faces joined us and I hope to maintain our home as a gathering place for home educating families.

This is the best day of the week.
Sharing fellowship with home educating families is at the core of our community. Each Wednesday we come together outside to support each other, have fun, and explore.
