Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death—even death on a cross!

Being a parent is a quality lesson in humility. My sons best me in all sorts of ways and often reveal my frailties.
Studying Jesus’s perfect journey as a servant is more humbling. His life as a man was impossibly brave as he strode toward death. As a Christian, I want to model myself after Jesus, no matter how daunting that may be.
